You can grant access to your PC to any number of users. For each user you can
create a separate account with a separate username and password and specify one or more
of the following access rights:
- View screen
- Control keyboard and mouse
- Transfer sound
- Access file system, which can be further restricted to:
- Specific folder
- Upload
- Download
- Delete
- Require a live person on the host computer to accept a connection
- Display a notification message when the user is connected
- Automatically remove desktop wallpaper during connection
- Enforce an inactivity timeout after which the session will be automatically disconnected
You specify access rights for each user when you create user accounts. You can
change the access rights at any time by editing a user account on the Users and
Passwords page of the Remote PC Server window.
Note: A user that has the View Desktop permission but not the Control Mouse and Keyboard permission
will be able to see the screen of your PC but will not be able to control its keyboard and mouse.
Note: If "Access file system" permission is granted but Upload, Download, and Delete
permissions are denied, it would allow the connected user to browse the
files on the entire system or within the specified folder without being able to take
any other action. This can be useful if you want to allow only browsing but should be avoided otherwise.
Note: You can restrict file access to a specific folder.
If the folder is not specified, the entire file system will be accessible to the remote user.
Only a single folder can be specified. If you want to provide access to multiple folders, you should create multiple user accounts,
one for each folder. The future versions of Access Remote PC will let you specify multiple folders for a single user account.
Note: If you check the box "allow access ONLY if accepted by live person on this
end of the connection" then a popup window will be displayed that would allow you
to manually accept or deny a connection to your computer.
Note: When an Access Remote PC user is authenticated via Windows integrated authentication, the user will access the file system under the credentials of the specified Windows account. In case of SRP authentication, the file system will be accessed with the credentials under which the Access Remote PC service (or Access Remote PC standalone server) is running.
Live connections to your PC are listed on the Active Connections page of
the Remote PC Server window. You can forcibly disconnect an active connection by selecting it and
pressing the Disconnect button. You can disconnect all connections at once by pressing the Disconnect All button.
Clicking on the server's tray icon when someone is connected to your computer, will take you right to the Active Connections page.
The server's tray icon will be highlighted if someone is viewing your PC via Access Remote PC connection.
